When it comes to party appetizers, few things make a statement quite like a cheese ball. While they’re typically pretty easy to make, they definitely show you put in the effort with a homemade dish. And this Muffuletta Cheese Ball takes things to an entirely new level. Inspired by the famous New Orleans sandwich, this recipe is packed with bold flavors, briny olives, and hearty Italian meats. It’s everything you love about a muffuletta, just reimagined into a spreadable app that will have guests flocking to the snack table.

The base starts with smooth, tangy cream cheese that’s seasoned with mustard, garlic, and oregano. Then comes the indulgent part: shredded mozzarella and provolone, plus a mix of diced capicola and salami to really get classic deli flavors. A spoonful of olive salad and a pop of fresh green onion give each bite a salty, savory kick with just enough freshness to keep things balanced.

Once it’s shaped and chilled, the finishing touch is a coating of olive salad pressed onto the outside of the ball. This gives each cracker swipe the full muffuletta effect. The salty, briny olives paired with the creamy, cheesy center are an irresistible combination that truly captures the essence of the sandwich in appetizer form.

Serve it alongside sesame crackers or even slices of baguette, and watch it disappear. Whether it’s for game day, a holiday spread, or just a fun way to bring a taste of New Orleans home, this Muffuletta Cheese Ball is guaranteed to be a hit.
