Classic Green Bean Casserole
Just like grandma made.

You know what they say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” And when it comes to the Classic Green Bean Casserole, that is certainly true. The original Campbell’s recipe is a holiday staple for a reason, it’s peak comfort food and totally delicious. It’s cozy, creamy, and topped with the irresistible crunch of fried onions. What’s not to love? Whether you’re bringing it to a potluck or making it as a weeknight comfort, this recipe is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Our version keeps things deliciously simple, staying true to the flavors you grew up loving. We start with three cans of cut green beans— drain ‘em and they’re ready to go! Cream of mushroom soup gives it that velvety base we all know and love, while a splash of milk helps bring everything together. A little onion powder, salt, and black pepper, and the casserole is almost ready.

The final (and possibly most important) step is the fried onion topping. We mix one can of those golden, crunchy bits right into the casserole for texture in every bite, and save the other for a crunchy finish on top. This dish is about as easy as comfort food gets. It’s humble, hearty, and pairs perfectly with a holiday dinner or casual weeknight meal. You can’t beat it!
