5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars
Who knew 5 ingredients could make such an addicting snack!
Whether you’re gearing up for entertaining a crowd, heading off to a potluck, or just want a little treat for yourself, it’s always nice to have an easy recipe or three on hand! While brownies and cookies are always a safe bet, let me introduce you to a new favorite – 5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars. That’s right. Just 5 simple ingredients can make a delicious dessert that everyone will love! And the best part is, you probably already have everything you need on hand, though you may need to grab a box of Cheerios depending on your family’s cereal preferences.
Here they are, the five ingredients that make up these delicious little treats. Peanut butter, honey, salted peanuts, Cheerios, and chocolate chips. If you love scotcheroos or Reese’s peanut butter cups, then this is definitely the dessert for you.
Sometimes with these kinds of desserts, it’s easy to add too much sugar in an attempt to make a richer flavor. However, all this usually ends up doing is making a cloying, sugary dessert that drowns out all of the other flavors. These bars, however, rely on honey and peanut butter to provide the sweetness, making it perfectly balanced. The drizzle of semi-sweet chocolate on top only adds to the depth of flavor without contributing to more sugar.
To make these Cheerio bars, simply melt the honey and peanut butter over medium-high heat. Stir in the cereal and salted peanuts, then press everything into a pan lined with parchment paper. Let the bars cool for at least an hour before drizzling the melted chocolate chips on top.
Not only do these look incredible, but they also taste incredible. Don’t believe me? Try it out for yourself? I bet your friends and family will ask you for more!
