Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

The cooler days of fall are just around the corner, and then winter will be here before we know it! One of my favorite things about this time of year is making warm, filling soups and stews in the slow cooker. There’s just something so comforting about coming home to a piping hot bowl of wild rice soup or chili. And since these are slow cooker meals, all the work is already done! Let’s take a look at some of our 5-star slow cooker soup recipes to add to your dinner rotation this fall!

Creamy Chicken And Wild Rice Soup

We keep the base of our soup fairly traditional, with carrot, celery, and onion, then add a bit of heartiness with wild rice and a touch of half-and-half for creaminess. And don’t forget slice of crusty bread to help scoop up any extra broth! We also love any leftovers heated up for lunch the next day. This meal is super simple to prepare and definitely easy to eat – our two favorite ingredients to any meal! Get the recipe here!

Slow-Cooker Enchilada Chili

Slow Cooker Enchilada Chile

This enchilada chili recipe is loaded with veggies, so you won’t feel too bad about topping it with cheese and sour cream. With just a hint of lime juice and chili powder, this dish is flavorful enough for even the most adventurous of eaters, while still being mild and accessible enough for the picky eaters at the table. If your family is anything like ours, covering veggies in cheese is always a good idea! Get the recipe here!

Slow Cooker Chicken Corn Soup

This was such a good family dinner, we can’t recommend it enough. Filled with lots of corn – we used canned, but using fresh in the summertime is absolutely the way to go – and chicken and bacon, this soup makes the best lunch or dinner! We packed this with tons of veggies, so there’s no need to cook any side dishes, but you know, we can’t help but think a healthy portion of cornbread would be a lovely way to serve this up. Slow Cooker Ham and Potato Soup

Mashed potatoes are one of the epitomes of comfort food, so it’s no wonder they taste so great in a hot and steamy soup. Once you cook the potatoes (and ham, celery, carrot, and onion) in the slow cooker, lightly mash the potatoes, then stir in the heavy cream and sour cream. The result is something rich and flavorful, that’ll warm you up and have everyone begging for seconds – you’re going to love it! Get the recipe here!

Slow Cooker Swedish Meatball Soup

Swedish meatballs was one of those treat recipes when I was growing up. We had them at potlucks and special occasions, but in our family they weren’t an everyday type of meal. In my mind it’s still a festive dish, but the fact that this Swedish meatball soup is made in the slow cooker makes this an achievable weeknight meal. If you’re looking for a hearty and comforting soup then look no further. Get the recipe here!

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely adore a soup that’s all at once filling, nutritious, and delicious and happens to be one where the slow cooker does all the work for you. That’s exactly what you get here with our Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili. It’s a soup with plenty of healthy goodies in it – lean chicken, white beans, onion, sweet corn, and green chilies – and yet it has a flavor that you’ll find yourself craving as soon as your bowl is empty. And the best part? It’s the kind of recipe you just dump in the slow cooker and walk away. No extra pots, pans, or cooking devices needed. Get the recipe here!
