If you’ve ever been to this cozy, nostalgic restaurant in California, then you already know the magic of their famous garlic cheese bread. It’s rich, buttery, and piled high with cheesy goodness in a way that feels just a little over the top (in the best possible way). This homemade version of North Woods Inn Garlic Cheese Bread brings all that indulgent flavor right into your own kitchen, and it’s surprisingly simple to make.

What makes this recipe stand out is the combination of cheeses and the whipped butter base. Beating the butter until it’s light and fluffy gives the spread an airy texture that melts beautifully into the bread. The cheddar brings sharpness, the Romano adds a salty bite, and the blend of garlic powder, paprika, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce creates that signature savory depth.

Another thing we love is how make-ahead friendly this recipe is. You can mix up a batch of the spread and keep it in the fridge, ready to go whenever the craving hits. Whether you’re serving it alongside pasta, soup, or a simple salad, it’s an easy way to make any meal feel a little more special. And if you’re hosting, this is one of those recipes guests always ask about after the first bite.

When it’s time to bake, don’t hold back! Spread a thick layer over each slice of French bread and let the broiler do the work. In just a few minutes, the edges turn crisp, the cheese bubbles, and the aroma fills the kitchen. Serve it hot, straight from the oven, and watch it disappear fast!
