Inspired by a famous restaurant recipe in New Orleans where the chef created this sweet & spiced Cajun-style vinaigrette. I’d never thought of using Tabasco sauce in a recipe, but turns out a few dashes really spice up this raspberry dressing. Serve this dressing with a soft cheese and fresh fruit to really allow this vin to shine. You know you already have all the ingredients you need if you have fresh raspberries.

SIX ingredients that you ALREADY have in your cupboard. You’re only choice is to use a blender or just a whisk. My favorite part of this recipe is it can be customized with any berry you have or even with your favorite jam or jelly.

This is a great fruit dressing to preserve your fruit that has been sitting in the fridge and just about to go bad. The vinegar and oil will prolong the life of your fruit and repurpose it into something you can serve to your whole family. I love to drizzle this dressings over a greens salad with lots of salty feta.

I used a whisk to break up the fresh raspberries and I have to say I freakin’ love the way it looks like pomegranate seeds. The flavor of this dressing only gets better overnight.

When vinaigrette recipes like this one come around they make me smile. It makes sense to the culinary side of my brain. You take something fresh and brighten it with vinegar, enhance the sweetness with sugar, bulk it with olive oil, and flavor it with spices. That’s exactly what a good recipe does. It layers the flavor to make it exciting. This is a foundational vinaigrette that you can pass down generations. I hope you try it!
