It’s got everything you love about the classic soup like rich, caramelized onion flavor and plenty of melty cheese baked into tender orzo pasta that is cooked to perfection. Yum! Best of all, this dish bakes up one single dish right in the oven, no stove top time required. It really doesn’t get much easier than this.

You’ll start things out with two cups of orzo pasta. Add it right from the box into the baking dish, no boiling required here. It will bake in the broth and soak up all those delicious French onion flavors. Speaking of flavor, we’ve really packed in here with a packet of french onion soup mix, a can of condensed french onion soup, and a dash of thyme and pepper. Last but not least, the cheese! Arguably the most important part. Half the cheese (swiss or mozzarella, that’s up to you) is mixed into the pasta as it bakes, then the rest is sprinkled on near the end of the bake time for that classic melty topping.
