What Ingredients Do You Need for Bacon-wrapped Water Chestnuts?
- Bacon
- Water Chestnuts
- Brown Sugar
- Soy Sauce
- Wooden Toothpicks

How Do You Make Bacon-wrapped Water Chestnuts?
Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees and preparing a sheet tray with parchment paper. While the oven preheats, soak your toothpicks in cold water to prevent the tips from burning in the oven. Drain the liquid from your water chestnuts and pat them dry, then wrap each one in a strip of bacon and pin it in place with the toothpick. Make sure the cut ends of the bacon are on the bottom when you place them on the tray to prevent them from unrolling as the bacon shrinks around the water chestnut in the oven.

Next sprinkle some brown sugar on top of each one, then sprinkle a few drops of soy sauce over the top. If you like things a little spicy, you can optionally sprinkle a little chili powder or cayenne on top as well.

Bake on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is done to your liking. If you prefer more well-done bacon and a darker soy caramel then bake on the bottom rack instead and reduce the heat to 325 after the first 15 minutes of baking.
