Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Sure there’s the tree, the shopping, and the parties, but Christmas is about some serious eating, specifically sweets. Our favorite go-to holiday treats may say a lot about our personalities.

Cut Out Sugar Cookies

If you like sugar cookies, don’t feel like you’re boring — sugar cookie lovers are lovely and warm people. Just like the many shapes and designs sugar cookies take, these people thrive on variety and different situations. Either way, they’ll keep to their true self because they’re pros at spreading joy and congregating with those around them. Their versatility, flexibility, and willingness to hold out until they have a complete, finished cookie can be a double-edged sword. Sugar cookie lovers may have people-pleasing instincts and a high tolerance for waiting (which is a negative), however, when these people are with others they love, it can be a beautiful character trait.

Hot Cocoa

If you like to unwind with a cup of cocoa, then you know how to have some serious downtime. The lush and deep flavors of chocolate coupled with warm, rich, and creamy milk translate into people that can take time for themselves. When the opportunity appears hot chocolate lovers never feel guilty to stop and collect their thoughts, focusing on themselves helps them engage better later in group situations. Just because they know how to slow down doesn’t mean they’re a one note of flavor. Like a sprinkling of marshmallows or a dollop of whipped cream, they can read a room and know when to show the stronger, bolder (and even more playful) side of their personality.

Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread cookies are the Christmas dessert that epitomizes the phrase “sugar and spice and everything nice.” Those who fancy gingerbread cookies have that same sweet and spicy attitude. These cookie lovers are full of creative and optimistic vibrancy, but at the same time, they’re not afraid to be blunt and tell it like it is. You can’t beat around the bush with these people! They don’t hold back, and that’s what makes them a jewel during the holiday times.

Eggnog

When you enjoy the joy and like eggnog, then you’re the type of person who turns the moment up to an eleven. Eggnog lovers know how to lift your holiday spirits, when something is special, it is special, no ifs, ands, or buts. No expenses (or calories) are restricted for these people, who take a special time of year to be a little decadent. That’s not to say these people are frivolous. Thoughtfulness is based on observance, and just like the seasonality of eggnog, eggnog lovers wait for the right time to say and do the right thing,

Snickerdoodles

During Christmas, a snickerdoodle isn’t just a cookie, it’s a feeling, and those who love these cookies get what I mean. It’s not just the warm cinnamon aroma that lifts your heart, but the buttery melt-in-your-mouth cookies grab you for an almost magical experience. Snickerdoodle cookie lovers take comfort to a whole new level. You’ll find these people close to a fireplace or wearing a beyond comfortable sweater. The simplest ingredients bring about the best cookies, and these people appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
