Hog Pogs are the easy appetizer you never knew you needed. With no chopping and no pre-cooking, these simple little toasts have savory, creamy, comforting flair and take almost no effort to make. You only need FOUR ingredients to whip them up, and that’s counting the bread! Make ’em big or make ’em bite-sized, either way they go fast. These are always a hit!

How Do You Make Hog Pogs?

Well, that is also so simple! First, slice up that bread. It’s good to go pretty thin with it so these aren’t too unwieldy for people to bite into. Set those slices aside.

Then, make your spread! Take that cream cheese and get it into a bowl with the sausage. And then mix. (Add that parmesan, too.) You can use a spoon, you can use a spatula, you might find it easiest to mix it with your hands, but you want it nice and cohesive without chunks of visible cream cheese.

Then take that sausage spread and smear a thin layer on each piece of bread. Pop those all on a baking sheet and get them in the oven. In about fifteen minutes the sausage will have cooked through and the bread will crisp up around the edges. A couple of minutes under the broiler sizzles that sausage a bit and takes things to the next level.

It’s a simple and easy starter, but it’s one that always hits!
