Want to know a secret? Serving something impressive at the holidays doesn’t have to be hard. Case in point, this Cranberry Pistachio Praline Dip. It’s a sure crowd-pleaser and yet it only takes about ten minutes from start to finish. A plain block of cream cheese gets topped with a warm, glossy mix of pistachios, tart cranberries, and some brown sugar goodness and suddenly it looks like something far fancier than it actually is.

You get creamy, sweet, salty, and a little crunchy in one bite, with tart cranberries to keep it from being too rich. It’s the kind of appetizer that disappears fast, so it never hurts to make enough for two.

What Ingredients Do You Need for Cranberry Pistachio Praline Dip?

  • Cream cheese.
  • Butter.
  • Brown sugar.
  • Honey. (Hot honey if you like a little kick!)
  • Dried cranberries.
  • Pistachios.
  • A pinch of salt.

I like to serve this with buttery crackers, crostini, or sliced apples and pears for dipping.

How Do You Make Cranberry Pistachio Praline Dip?

Melt the butter, brown sugar, and honey together in a saucepan over medium heat, whisking until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the chopped cranberries and pistachios, then take it off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes so it’s warm, but not scorching hot.

Set the softened cream cheese on a serving plate, pour the pistachio mixture over the top, and sprinkle with a little salt. That’s it! (Easier said than done? Not this time.)

Can I Make This Ahead of Time?

You can make the topping a day or two ahead and store it in the fridge. Just warm it gently before pouring it over the cream cheese so it spreads and drips the way it should.

Does It Have to Be Pistachios?

Not at all. Chopped pecans or walnuts work well too, but I love the color pistachios bring to the plate.
