Fresh baked rolls from the oven with a spread of homemade Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Honey Butter. This is a quick technique to get delicious dinner rolls in less than 2 hours. My first time trying these rolls I was mesmerized! That kind of special attention to detail is what I crave going out to eat. The buttery, soft roll with mouthwateringly succulent honey butter is the perfect accompaniment to any dinner. Making fresh bread just feels so good. Definitely, my favorite thing to bake in the kitchen. This is a perfect beginner’s bread recipe to try your hand at the process, especially if this is your first time!

My first job was at Cinnabon in the mall and I knew I immediately loved playing with the dough. Freshly baked cinnamon rolls have got to be something angels serve in heaven because their magical. Making things with your hands is just magical. Your hands and eyes will start to tell you how well your dough is doing. Does she need more water? Does she need more flour? Does she need more kneading? The dough will tell you when it’s ready to proof. At first mixing flour and water, your dough should always be more wet than dry. As you knead the dough, the flour will absorb more and more water, until a smooth, bouncy, non-tacky dough is formed. It’s an addictingly fun process.

Some helpful tips:
It’s important to keep your hands wet and use a bench scraper to keep the dough from sticking to your fingers. To create a warm all-season environment for proofing, heat up a cup of water in the microwave and leave the dough to sit and proof in the microwave with the hot water.

Homemade rolls make for a great holiday gift, especially with homemade cinnamon butter. I remember for Thanksgiving catering back at my old place in Chicago, dinner rolls were a huge hit. People just love soft warm bread with dinner, it just changes the game. These rolls can be frozen, as well as repurposed for sandwiches, croutons for salads, slider buns, French toast, and bread pudding. I really hope you try your hand at playing with some dough today. You just feel like a kid again!
