Almost every restaurant offers a plant-based option, and Chick-fil-A is the newest one to enter the list.

According to a press release from the company, the Atlanta chain may be focused on serving chicken, but now a breaded cauliflower sandwich is being tested.

Chick-fil-A is not rolling out the cauliflower sandwich at all restaurants at this time.

They plan on testing the sandwich in Denver, South Carolina, and North Carolina. That may give them an idea of whether it is a good idea or not.

There were a number of options on the table when it came to the plant-based option they would offer.

At one time, they considered blending chickpeas with mushrooms and chopped vegetables into a sandwich. Cauliflower, however, continued to win out because it was mild tasting.

Another notable restaurant with plant-based food on its menu is Burger King. Again, they focused on selling hamburgers, but now they offer the Impossible Whopper.

Even Starbucks has its own Impossible sausage sandwich. McDonald’s even worked with Beyond Meat to add the McPlant burger available in the UK.
