If you are somebody who thinks that your food orders through Uber Eats are anonymous and private, you may want to rethink that stance. In reality, the company is paying attention to what you order and it seems as if you may be in for a rude awakening if you order alcohol too many times.

In Australia, an Uber Eats customer received an email and they went on Reddit to share it.

The email said: “Our systems indicate you’ve placed a few alcohol orders over the past few weeks.”

The delivery service went on to recommend that they order no more than 10 standard drinks every week. They said that the ordering pattern of the customer could cause their account to be put on hold and reviewed.

It seems as if Uber Eats started sending out those emails in August, but they haven’t yet said how many beverages you need to order to cross the threshold.

Apparently Uber Eats has teamed up with DrinkWise. Pretty rude of my to get an alcohol order or two every week.

Along with the possibility that someone could lose their account, they also send you to the website DrinkWise. Uber Eats has partnered with them for a number of years and even got more involved after they started delivering alcohol in Melbourne, Australia.

After somebody orders alcohol, the delivery driver has to scan their ID to prove they are over the legal age of 18 in Australia. If the person is already visibly intoxicated or underage, the alcohol has to be returned.

According to the customer who posted on Reddit, they only ordered an “alcohol order or two” per week.

As you can imagine, there was a lot of commenting and debating going on. Some were concerned that it was an invasion of privacy while others were applauding their obvious effort to keep people from consuming too much alcohol.
