If you’re looking for a hands-off way to use up those fresh strawberries that you just bought from the farmers market or those old strawberries that are about to go bad in the fridge, then you’re gonna want this slow cooker strawberry recipe. A great way to enjoy your strawberries with a simple technique. The slow cooker was designed for these kinds of tasks. Transform your fresh or frozen strawberries into a luscious, jammy treat. Whether you’re topping pancakes, swirling it into yogurt, spooning it over ice cream, making it into popsicles, or creating a refreshing lemonade this recipe is as versatile as it is delicious. A refreshing summer recipe, no stovetop required!

This technique is a process I take for any old fruit. I love to make refreshing fruity beverages out of things like this. Pineapple aging on the counter? Apple starting to go bad? Are your grapes really mushy? Make them jammy! Once they’re cooked you can blend them into puree and then you can literally use this in SO many ways.

Any fruit recipe you make, especially with strawberries, will benefit from a fresh citrus fruit. Lemon or lime or even orange really amplify the flavor of fresh fruit. Top tip is to even use the zest in your recipe to infuse even the citrus oils into the fruit. BIG chef energy right there.

Let the crockpot do the work. Don’t fuss with the oven or the stovetop, the heating element is enough to make these soft.

These types of strawberries are my favorite on top of cakes or in a strawberry shortcake. We even spread these whole strawberries on buttered toast and they mash beautifully.

What will you use your jammy strawberries in? I used mine in some homemade popsicles. $4 for 16 freshly made strawberry popsicles. Such a win. I’ve also made some killer alcoholic beverages with this or even a fresh lemonade will do the trick. I promise when you make these for your friends they will always find ways to use them.
