There are certain animals that you simply never expect to see in someone’s home.
We hope that we are not being too presumptuous when we say that eels are one of them. However, this Kentucky man is taking that perception and flipping it on its ear.
He believes that eels should be a part of his household, much to the delight of viewers at home. After all, we do not mind watching this at all. As long as we are the ones who do not have to care for the eels, this is all well and good in our eyes.
Nick Tobler hails from Kentucky and he has been sharing videos of his unique setup on TikTok where he has over one million followers!
So, why did Nick spend all this time creating an eel pit? The answers are easy enough to understand. He “likes keeping really weird fish” and he “likes exploring really weird places,” according to his TikTok. The eels all have awesome names, too. One of them is named Mentally Eel and another is called Crunchwrap Supreme.
The pit does not house eels alone, either. Since he first set it up, he has added a number of different creatures. There are also blue crabs, catfish, and diamond sturgeon. We had no idea that eels could live for as long as they do, either. Did you know that they can grow to a length of four feet and live for as long as 80 years?
Nick better make sure that he has someone to take them! There’s a very good chance that these eels could end up outliving him! In the meantime, he does not seem overly concerned with that. We are just hoping for more TikTok videos that showcase them in their new home. It is not every day that you get to see eels hanging out like this!
