In today’s news about foods that exist despite no real demand for them, Papa John’s has a whole new dining option. We are not sure who was clamoring for this one but to each their own. South Korean Papa John’s diners will now have the chance to enjoy…hot dog pizza? Each slice comes with its own hot dog, too. The chain is calling it American Hot Dog Pizza!
As Americans, we cannot believe that hot dogs have become one of our defining traits. Don’t put this evil on us, Ricky Bobby! Whole hot dogs are included but the toppings do not stop there. Pickle relish, chili salsa sauce, dijon mustard sauce, cheddar potato mousseline, mozzarella cheese, parsley, and onions come included. This reminds us of a Pizza Hut pizza from our past.
This company was responsible for the Hot Dog Bites pizza that still haunts our dreams. This pizza is a bit more intense, though. A hot dog has been added to each slice. Mustard and ketchup appear to be the sides, as well. Is this what we have come to as a nation? We cannot believe that this is where we are as a country. The rest of the world has such a shallow view of us.
We need to do whatever it takes to shed this image once and for all. While this may not seem that different from a pepperoni pizza to some, we know better. Papa John’s seems to realize their target audience for this one. It is being marketed as the perfect food for hipsters. We are sure that all of the grown men who still wear fedoras will be all over this one.

We kid, we kid. In reality, we wouldn’t mind giving this pizza a try. There are lots of different pizza flavors that probably didn’t seem that appetizing at first. For example, who was the first person to come up with pineapple pizza? We are willing to bet that they received a lot of push back when the idea was first brought up.
At the current moment, this pizza is only going to be available in South Korea. Fortunately, they are not very expensive. The pizzas can be had for the low price of just $8.50 in US dollars. This is the equivalent of 10,000 won. If you stop to think about it, you are actually getting two meals at the same time.
