Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

If you’ve passed the Golden Arches in recent weeks, you may have noticed that there is an old familiar sandwich back on the menu again.

It is the McRib, and where regardless of whether you love it or hate it, you have to admit that it is an icon of that fast-food restaurant.

Many people were thrilled when the McRib made its appearance again but according to a local Chicago station, McDonald’s is saying that it may be doing its farewell tour at this point.

If it seems like a long time since we have been enjoying the McRib, you aren’t mistaken. It first showed up in 1981 in Kansas City and throughout the years, it has been on and off the menu in many parts of the United States and around the world.

Even the senior archives manager for McDonald’s, Mike Bullington, weighed in on the subject. According to KTLA, he said that the McRib should be enjoyed when it is colder outside. Perhaps that is why it showed up as the seasons changed to autumn.

McDonald’s is also talking about the farewell to the McRib.

They said: “Order yours in the McDonald’s app for delivery or pick up before you say goodbye on 11/20/22. Enjoy our famous pork sandwich as if it’s your last.”

Time is running out. Are you going to go get a McRib?
