Smooth, creamy, and oh-so-rich, dips hit a spot in our hearts like no other recipe. This Little Debbie Cake Dip takes the nostalgic cakes of our childhood and adds them straight into the dip for an experience unlike anything else.

Fancy cakes – a soft vanilla cake base filled with light, airy cream and coated in a white shell – have been gracing the grocery store aisles for decades. Come every new round of holidays, the fancy cakes change shape, becoming adorable seasonal treats. Little Debbie’s Christmas tree cakes are the most popular, but doing a classic version of this dip makes the recipe more versatile for any time of year. The recipe here puts cake into a smooth and creamy-dippable form for any season!

Little Debbie Cake Dip couldn’t be simpler! You start with a box of Little Debbie Cakes, a block of cream cheese, and whipped topping. If you want to be super fancy, you could add a few drops of vanilla extract, but this dip is already packed with a lot of flavor!

Combine everything into a mixing, and get to mixing. While you could mash this up all by hand, the process goes way faster with a hand or stand mixer. With the power of a mixer, you can get a much smoother consistency without killing your wrists. However, if you opt to mix this by hand, mash the cakes first, then combine the smoothed cake mixture with the cream cheese, and then lastly mix in the whipped topping. For the mixer route, start by beating your cakes and cream cheese until as smooth as possible. Next, fold in your thawed whipped topping followed by your optional dash of vanilla extract.

After mere minutes, you have a dessert. For a double dose of inception, I served and dipped the dip with additional Fancy Cakes, but this dip would be created with vanilla cookie wafers, sugar cookies, fruits, and pretzels.

Honestly, you’ll be sneaking a spoonful (or two or three) of the dip by itself, that’s how good it is. This dip’s whipped texture makes it light and airy, while the creamy cheese cuts through the sweetness of the cakes. The cakes break down into a smooth texture. You’ll have the essence of a cake with the texture of a frosting. A win-win in my book for sure!
