Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

There are certain items that make us look forward to the Christmas season and fire logs rank near the top of that list. They are an underrated aspect of the holiday. And while Kentucky Fried Chicken’s famous 11 herbs and spices recipe may not come to mind this time of year, but all of that is about to change!

You can now take home a KFC-scented fire log that is sure to have your home smelling delicious this year. In case you are totally unaware, the KFC 11 Herbs and Spices Firelog can be had for all of 16 dollars. What could be better?

These logs have been a hugely popular novelty item for some time now. After being sold at various outlets over the past two years, Wal-Mart has now obtained the exclusive rights to selling them. Once you light the log on fire, you are going to smell the signature KFC recipe without having to leave the living room.

#wtfwednesday? Thanks to @globalbc @globalnews just found out that @kfc_canada is releasing its “11 herbs and spices FIRE LOG” and according to the @nationalpost it sold out within three hours last year! Hahahahah. What a strange and hilarious marketing campaign. So, as a designer I wish I could have been part of that creative strategy meeting. And, as a #vegan, I could make my house smell like #chicken for #Christmas. #goodtoknow Thanks for the mid week, morning laugh. #icantstoplaughing #kfc #christmas2020 #smellslikechicken #kfcfirelog #weirdwednesday #graphicdesign #marketing

This sounds like one heck of a deal from where we are sitting. The scent will last at least two hours while burning. The log has been sold directly through the KFC website in the past, but now that Wal-Mart has exclusive rights they’re no longer continuing with that. However, Amazon and eBay may have you covered if you cannot find one at Wal-Mart.

We do have one final note to offer. Some of you are probably aware of the fact that KFC is owned by Yum! brands. This is the same company that also owns Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Maybe we are going to get some items that smell like our favorite Taco Bell and Pizza Hut meals in the future? Hey, we can only hope.

Sometimes, you have to put certain thoughts out into the universe to see what comes of them. When we are enjoying a Crunch Wrap Supreme log next year, you can give us our proper credit then. In the meantime, pass this one along to all of the KFC stans in your life.
