There is an old saying that a good salesman could sell ketchup popsicles to a person in white gloves. That saying brings out how ridiculous it would be for a ketchup popsicle to exist, but as it turns out, it wasn’t that far-fetched.

I’d like to introduce you to the Frenchsicle. It is the latest sensation created by French’s, a company that is commonly known for its condiments, including ketchup and mustard.

When you stop to think about the company and what they make for a living, it probably won’t surprise you to know that the Frenchsicle is actually a ketchup-flavored popsicle. It may sound unusual, but it is now available.

A press release talked about the interesting frozen treat that they claim was made from 100% Canadian tomatoes.

It was available at various pop-up locations throughout Canada during June. French’s worked along with Happy Pops, a Canadian local business that makes natural ice pops from real fruit.

You might not think that a ketchup-flavored popsicle would do well but there were some people who were on board with the thought. Of course, that wasn’t the most popular decision and many people just thought it was nothing but horrifying.

Unfortunately, for those in the United States and elsewhere throughout the world, the popsicles were only being sold in Toronto and Ontario. If you’d like to make up your own Popsicle, however, you could get the recipe online.
