Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Ja Rule is a rapper who lives in Los Angeles. He wanted to help out a local Greek restaurant, so he made his own commercial at home and it’s exactly what we all need during lockdown.

It’s hard to describe what he did, so it’s best just to watch it.

In his words, the fine folks at Papa Cristo’s have the “best mother-f***ing gyros.” I’ll be the first one to admit that I’ve never tried their gyros, but I’m taking his word on it.

I loved his “I ❤️ Greece” T-shirt, but what was even better was watching him try to pronounce some of the menu items. It’s pure gold!

Papa Cristo’s’ owner’s face is then seen on the body of a club DJ, and it seems to work. Ja Rule does his own routine to make things even better.

At the end, he lets everybody know just how wonderful the restaurant is and then tells them to visit their West Pico Blvd location in Los Angeles for take-out or dining in. “I’m telling you, come on down to Papa Cristo’s. You can’t even pronounce the food it’s so god damn good!”

Ja Rule is more than somebody who came up with an interesting idea, he did it on the fly to help out a local business that is struggling due to the pandemic. Business owners around the world are having a hard time keeping their doors open, but thanks to his efforts, I’m sure that this is one Greek restaurant that will be up and running for quite some time.

“I feel like you captured me in the best way you could and you’re showing my family and my store the way I’m so proud to show it,” the owner tells Ja Rule over videoconference.

Well played!
