A Peek Behind The Scenes Of The London Animatronics Studio

Ever since many of us were young children, we have enjoyed the Star Wars franchise. It’s incredible to think that it has been around for so many decades.

Since the very beginning, one thing that has captivated our attention is the many different unusual creatures that fill the screen. Some of them became stars of the show, such as Chewbacca, and others are just filler that exists in the background.

In any case, however, having these characters move and act in a lifelike way is something that makes the movies even more enjoyable. Have you ever wondered how they can do it?

Thanks to the video below, we look behind the scenes at how these characters come to life in the movies. It involved a visit to Biomimic Studio in South London.

“Great Big Story” met up with an anime Tronics expert, Gustav Hoegen. For the past three decades, he has been responsible for bringing those characters to life.

Hogen talks about how the franchise was an important part of his life when he was a little child. He remembers seeing the Return of the Jedi with his father at the movie theater in Amsterdam.

Since that time, he never looked back and now he gets to work with these interesting creatures and make them live for the rest of us.
