When this anonymous Reddit user decided to post about a hospital’s alleged policy, they never could have expected what would happen next.

These hospital workers are allegedly being charged to use the microwave and the internet has had a lot to say about it. The user is known simply as u/Berezis and claims to be a Florida native.

The photo was first posted on Reddit in the sub Mildly Infuriating.

The forum has nearly 6 million users and allows people to post pictures of things that are well, mildly infuriating.

“Sign posted at my friend’s job (hospital behavioral health unit),” Berezis wrote. There is a piece of printer paper that has been taped to the surface and it has an interesting message on it.

If the paper is to be believed, the paper indicates that each individual usage of the microwave will cost at least $2. Those who wish to purchase a month long microwave pass that allows for unlimited usage can spend $30. Of course, there were many who wondered how legitimate the sign was and if it had been posted there as a joke for the knowing staff members.

That was our first instinct as well. After all, no one could be this ridiculous about something so petty, right? Berezis added additional context in the comment section. They did not want to share the name of the hospital but they let fellow users know that the picture was sent to them in a text message from a friend who had just started working at this location.

There are other microwaves available in other areas of the hospital, so those who are not looking to pay are able to heat up their food elsewhere.

“Buy the unlimited pass and charge everyone else $1 for you to heat their food up,” one person commented. The comments seemed divided on whether this one was a joke or not and we can see why. On one hand, that’s an unhinged thing to do. On the other, people really do take liberties in workplace kitchens.
