Wake up in the morning and a cup of coffee is an automatic must. While straight black or a splash of milk are tried and true classic ways to drink your cup of Joe, since the 1950s, coffee creamer has wedged its way into the market, becoming as common as a splash of milk and half-and-half. But recent recalls may change that.

One of the largest manufacturers of coffee creamer, International Delight, has issued a recall, which the FDA labeled as one of the second-highest risk levels. International Delights’ parent company Danone had received reports of premature spoilage in February, followed by reports of illness. A voluntary recall by the company was issued, and then the FDA classification was initiated in early March.

The two main flavors affected by the recall are Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll and Hazelnut flavors. While the expiration dates are in July, consumers are urged to dispose of the creamers and not consume them.

It’s unknown at the moment as to how many have become ill because of the creamers. However, the recall is quite large, spreading across thirty-one different states — AL, AR, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, and WY.
Consumers can also go to the place of purchase and get a refund or replacement. People are also able to contact the company via their International Delight Consumer Care Line at 1-800-441-3321.
