The woman that you are about to meet went through a horrific ordeal because she did not clean her makeup brushes regularly and we had no idea that something so terrible could happen as a result of that.

This British woman has gone viral on TikTok for sharing her story and rightfully so.

Everyone wants to know what happened so that they are able to avoid this fate in their own lives. Louaira Dela Cruz, 22, said on TikTok that she contracted ringworm because she was sharing makeup brushes with her friends.

As you would expect, this was a total disaster and she was left to deal with the aftermath of this seemingly meaningless decision.

A horrific rash spread across her entire face, causing her a sizable amount of stress in the process. “Sorry guys, I’ve been a bit quiet because my skin’s flared up,” she shared, as she tried her best to explain her recent TikTok hiatus. “I don’t know what it is and doctors don’t know what it is, but — trigger warning — this is what’s been going on,” she said.

From there, she showed her face.

Two huge, circular rashes have broken out on her chin. “That is ringworm. How do the doctors not know that? Wow!” said one stunned commentator.

It was not long before she received the proper diagnosis and shared it with her audience. Louaira confirmed that the commentators were correct in a follow-up clip that was uploaded a mere two days later.

She is doing her best to treat the infection and we wish her all of the best. “Skin update,” she shared. “I know sharing is caring, but you best believe I’m not letting anyone touch my makeup brushes or sponges ever again, because this is ringworm.”

Ringworm is more commonly spread than people realize, whether we are talking about makeup brushes, towels or bed linens.

The rash is said to go away within two weeks if the proper course of treatment is followed but it is a very difficult process. “Ringworm is an absolute nightmare to get rid of,” one viewer states. “Need to be religious with the [application of cream], and change towels daily.”

Fortunately, she has since shared follow-up videos and things seem to be moving in the right direction.
