Let’s face it – the tastiest dishes are not always the prettiest ones and that’s definitely the case with Deviled Ham. It’s a little much to look at but it’s SO good. If you haven’t had it before – just think egg salad or tuna salad, but with ham. See? Not so weird. It’s just chopped ham that’s folded into a creamy and flavorful base that makes for one delicious sweet and savory mixture. It makes an incredible sandwich but it works just as well as a dip or a cracker spread too. And it’s super easy to make.
Just take four cups of chopped ham and break it down in the food processor until it’s finely chopped but not fully a paste. This is a great place to use leftover ham from the holidays!
Then you’ll add mayo, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and hot sauce and mix it all up.
That’s it! You’ve made Deviled Ham Salad. Now spread it on a sandwich or a cracker and you’ll see what all the fuss is about. It looks a little scary, I know, but there’s a good reason it’s been around for well over a century now. Underwood Deviled Ham is the original canned deviled ham and it was trademarked in 1870 – you can still find it today, but it’s easy (and delicious) to make your own.
