In college, I had a friend who would mix cottage cheese with a few things and then use it as a dip for Doritos (and only Doritos). I don’t know exactly what she put in it, but the combo is so good, I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. So here’s my version of Doritos Dip, re-born. It’s so simple that it might be more of a serving suggestion than a recipe, BUT, you can’t keep the best ideas to yourself, so even though it’s simple, I had to bring this Doritos Dip to all of you.

What Ingredients Do I Need For Doritos Dip?

Not a lot. You need:

  • Cottage cheese. Just trust me; it works.
  • Green onions.
  • Corn kernels. Fire-roasted if you can find ’em.
  • Garlic powder and onion powder.
  • (And salt and pepper, of course.)
  • That’s it. You can complicate it further if you want. I’ll give you some ideas for that down below.

How Do I Make Doritos Dip?

Well, my friends, you stir it all together. It’s that easy.

This isn’t a dip you have to chill for a long time before you eat it, though some time in the fridge does help that onion and garlic powder mingle a bit better.

But you really can just mix and eat. Because can I tell you a secret? Doritos and cottage cheese are incredible together. Just trust me. It’s something about the combo of that zesty nacho flavor and the mild creamy cheese curd. It just works.

But if that’s too simple for you…

What Variations Can I Make On Doritos Dip?

You can really level things up if you’re looking for something a little more special.
Avocados. Chop them up and stir them in.
Tomatoes. Same as above. Or stir in some of your favorite salsa.
Kick up the heat. If you’d like some spice, add some cayenne or hot sauce.

But me? I’m a simple girl and I like this dip creamy and cool. Enjoy!
