The 90s nostalgia is real these days. If you were growing up then, you are probably familiar with a popular children’s show, “Blue’s Clues.”

Paramount+ has made the announcement that it will be releasing a moving that is based off the beloved show. The movie will be a hybrid of both animation and live-action, featuring everyone’s favorite characters from the series: Steve, Joe, Josh, and of course, Blue the dog!

The film will be titled “Blue’s Big City Adventure,” and will follow Josh and Blue as they arrive in New York City – alongside Steve and Joe – in order to audition for a Broadway musical. Sounds fun so far! The film’s animation will be handled by Nickelodeon Animation.

As of right now, there isn’t much more information on the upcoming project. However, Nickelodeon did reveal that excited audiences can expect to have film come out later in the year – but Paramount+ contradicted this by saying it’ll be out in 2023. Sounds like a case for Blue to find out the exact release date!

For those who might need a refresher on “Blue’s Clues,” Steve Burns was the original host of the show from 1996-2002. Once he departed, his role was replaced by Donovan Patton, who played his brother, Joe. After that, Joshua Dela Cruz was brought in as Joe’s cousin, Josh, for the rebooted “Blue’s Clues and You!” – which is still airing on Nickelodeon.

While this movie will be featuring all three human cast members, it’s not the first time that Steve and Joe have appeared together. They’ve previously appeared in episodes of “Blue’s Clues and You!” Paramount+ has released the first image of the new movie, and in it, Steve is dressed like a detective, and Joe is dressed in a shirt that has presents on it – all reminiscent of the jobs their characters had on the show.

Besides taking part in the new movie, the three hosts were also a part of the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where they celebrated the franchise’s 25th anniversary and all sang the song, “You Can’t Spell Blue Without You,” as a way of thanking their fans for continued support across three decades.

The collaboration between Paramount+ and Nickelodeon doesn’t just stop at the new movie, “Blue’s Big Adventure.” In the works, there will also be a sequel to the 2021 film “Paw Patrol: The Movie,” as well as three new SpongeBob SquarePants films, a Baby Shark movie, an animated Transformers film, a series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, and a new animated “Dora the Explorer” series AND a live-action series which takes inspiration from the 2019 film, “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”
