We all need a little inspiration sometime,s and if we use it properly, it might even take us far in life.

It seems as if one TikTok user has experienced this in her life after using a meme, inspired by Gen Z.

It started when Carly Swanson was applying for a job but unfortunately, they didn’t want to interview her. On Thursday, the company in Virginia had sent her a rejection email but she decided to try something different, rather than sending a thank you.

It was the popular Internet meme, “y tho” that she sent to them. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is from a painting by Fernando Botero in 1964, “Pope Leon X (after Raphael).”

After sending the meme, she had to post a video on TikTok to let people know how it turned out. It seems as if they liked her gesture, so they got back with her and now they want to interview her for the job.

After posting the video on TikTok, millions of people watched it. It’s amazing that she decided to reply with a meme, and it actually worked in her favor.

In a direct message with Fox News Digital, Swanson said: “I wasn’t worried what would happen if I sent a meme because I had already been rejected so I figured it couldn’t hurt. I was surprised when the company did reach out for an interview.”

Swanson declined to name the company but she did say that she was applying for the scheduling coordinator position and the company was located in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, things took a turn when they selected another candidate before the interview took place. She said: “I believe they just wanted to talk to me and meet the person who sent that [the meme].”

She is disappointed that she didn’t get the job but at the same time, she’s happy that her video went viral.
