Medical emergencies can happen at any time. When you think about it, it’s actually quite scary, especially when you realize that someone could experience a medical emergency during an already risky activity like driving.

For one woman behind the wheel, she experienced a medical emergency that could’ve ended very badly had it not been for the brave actions of a group of Good Samaritans.

The incident happened in Boynton Beach, Florida. The woman was driving when she experienced her episode. It was all caught on a traffic camera in the intersection.

In the video, you see the woman’s car slowing down as it approaches the intersection. Suddenly, the woman’s coworker can be seen running across the street and through the traffic, waving her arms in order to get people’s attention. As it turned out, the coworker had been riding in another vehicle, when she saw the woman slump over the steering wheel.

Her coworker managed to attract the attention of others who quickly realized the dangerousness of the mounting situation. It quickly escalated into a group effort to intervene. Several others exited their cars and then came together as a group to bring the woman’s car to a stop.

One woman got a dumbbell out of her car, and another man used it to smash the rear passenger’s side window. Afterward, a different man then climbed through the window in order to unlock the passenger’s side door.

After the vehicle was placed in park, the group of Good Samaritans managed to then get it off the road and out of the intersection by pushing it to the 7-Eleven parking lot that was close by. While in the parking lot, a nurse who had called 911 was able to give the driver medical attention while waiting for the fire department to show up.

The incredible Good Samaritan rescue was released by the Boynton Beach Police Department as an attempt at “learning the identities of all the strangers who came together to save this woman’s life.”

It turned out to be useful, as the department later released an updated social media post in which they shared they’d been in contact with several of the Good Samaritans and would be honoring their efforts.
