Newly Widowed Father Breaks Down To His House Being Paid Off For Christmas
It can be hard to watch our parents grow old and when it comes time to lay one to rest? It is one of the hardest things that we will ever have to do.
Jennifer Petit and her husband recently went through this terrible tragedy and the response that they had is enough to make us want to cry, too. Her father was forced to bury his wife just before Christmas and times were looking hard.
Dad was unsure as to how he would be able to make ends meet after his wife’s untimely passing. Jennifer and her husband knew that they had to do something to help him out. How could she ever repay the man who raised her, though? The surprise that they came up with will definitely make you want to smile.
Instead of leaving her father to worry about bills and expenses piling up, they made one of the most selfless decisions that a couple can make. They gave him a Christmas surprise for the ages by paying off the mortgage to his home, so he would not have to worry as much from a financial standpoint. What a thoughtful gesture from this selfless daughter!
“My mother passed away December 1st and my dad was stressed about the bills so my husband and I paid off some of their debts and paid off his house for him for Christmas,” Petit explained in the video below. This is the sort of thing that we are striving to be able to do for our parents someday. We can’t begin to imagine this father’s pride.
It can’t be easy to lose someone that you love, especially during the holidays. No one should ever have to go through this type of pain. That’s what makes Jennifer’s gesture such an important one. She knew that her father was struggling and did the first thing that came to mind. This story serves as a powerful inspiration to us all during these trying times.
Jennifer made her father’s life a bit easier and we hope that this family is able to find the peace and healing that they need most. Our heart goes out to this father and all of this family’s loved ones as well.
