Most of us are pretty good about taking the time to wash our pillowcases on a regular basis. Not only does it keep our faces cleaner but it also allows us to sleep on a clean and fresh surface. While the importance of washing your pillowcases is pretty common knowledge, most people are unaware of the importance of washing the actual pillow.

In many instances, the pillowcase cannot do much to protect us. Once sweat has seeped through, the entire pillow must be cleaned or it can lead to unwanted acne among other unpleasantries.

When it comes time to wash the pillow, you’ll want to make sure to follow the recommendations that are given for your specific pillow. Regardless of the type or brand of pillow, however, you’ll want to be washing it regularly!

Once the washing process is complete, dry the pillow on a hot heat cycle with some tennis balls. The heat will help kill any hidden bacteria that may be on the pillow still and the tennis balls will help fluff the pillows back to their pre-washed state.

While most of us are well aware of the importance of washing our pillowcases every week, the pillows themselves are being neglected far too often. Let’s all do our part to make sure that this does not happen anymore!
