Mary Tyler Moore
Being diabetic, Mary Tyler Moore had many more dietary concerns than those of her fellow actresses. Moore strove to eat a balanced diet for her, consuming a notoriously healthy menu which kept her very slim and would be considered healthy even by today’s standards.
In 1970 her daily diet (according to a Vogue Magazine interview) went something like this – for breakfast half a grapefruit, one poached, and a slice of bacon. For lunch it was a salad with cottage cheese, tuna, and fresh vegetables. For dinner Moore might have a steak with two kinds of vegetables (no salt or butter). Unsurprisingly, Moore had a weakness for cookies as well!
