If you have spent any time on TikTok at all, you are probably well aware of this woman’s voice already. The text-to-speech voice sounds very robotic and you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a digital creation.

However, this voice actually does belong to a flesh and blood woman. She is now here to speak out about the experience and we are highly intrigued.

Her name is Kat Callaghan. She’s a radio host that is based in Ontario and she works for the local station 91.5 FM “The Beat.” Little did we know that she is the actual voice behind all of those clips that we see on the TikTok app.

“When you guys have been asking me if I’m the voice on TikTok,” she wrote on the clip. It has already received nearly 37 million views.

“Finally I can tell you guys — it is me,” she said, switching to her normal voice.

Of course, there were lots of viewers who found themselves skeptical. They asked her if she could do the voice, so that she could prove to them that she was the woman that they have been hearing this whole time. She’s only posted three videos so far but she’s already become very popular.

For a long time I didn’t say a word. But … yes it’s me and yes I have an ongoing awesome relationship with the folks at TikTok. 🎉 The coolest part for me is watching the creativity & awesome content that people are putting out there using my voice. (Also oddly enough this is my first TikTok)

Can you believe that she has already amassed over a quarter million followers? She was sure to let viewers know that she would never lie. Her voice is her livelihood.

She runs her own podcast, does voice-over work and is regularly on the radio. “Yes, I’m the TikTok text-to-speech girl, my name is Kat,” she said in one clip.

She even provided a perfect rendition of how her voice sounds on the app.

“Sometimes, you guys make me say some pretty horrendous things, it’s pretty messed up, but I kinda think it’s funny. I don’t mind it at all,” she continued. It did not take long before she was able to convince the skeptics once and for all.

Let’s see if this does it.

“I heard it on the ‘no I’m not lying’ and my jaw dropped,” said one viewer. She is also drawing comparisons to the one and only Siri. We thought that the voice was computer generated as well, so we were just as stunned as everyone else. “Imagine her scrolling thru TikTok and just hearing her own voice over and over,” said another viewer.
