Takeout is great, but you know what’s better? A dish that tastes like takeout, comes together in just 20 minutes, costs a fraction of the price, and uses up half the vegetables in your fridge too. These Teriyaki Chicken Noodles are exactly that kind of weeknight hero. With that signature sweet and savory flavor, they’re loaded with tender noodles and healthy chicken and veggies, all finished with that glossy teriyaki sauce you love. That’s a well-rounded weeknight dinner if I’ve ever heard of one!

What Ingredients Do You Need for Teriyaki Chicken Noodles?

Just one skillet, one pot, and a handful of fresh ingredients! You’ll need:

  • Chow mein noodles. Fettuccine is a great substitute though!
  • A neutral cooking oil.
  • Ground chicken.
  • Garlic.
  • Onion.
  • Some carrot.
  • Broccoli florets.
  • Green cabbage.
  • Teriyaki sauce. (Use your favorite!)
  • And sesame seeds for serving. (If you’d like.)

Can you use different vegetables?
Absolutely. This is a great “use-it-up” dish. Bell peppers, snap peas, mushrooms, or baby bok choy would all be delicious here. Use whatever you have on hand and it’ll work beautifully.

How Do You Make Teriyaki Chicken Noodles?

This is a true 20-minute meal with no complicated techniques and no special equipment needed. Everything cooks fast over high heat, you just want to make sure that your vegetables are thinly slices and in similar sizes.

Start by boiling your noodles according to the package directions, then drain and set them aside. While the noodles cook, heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and brown the ground chicken, breaking it apart as it cooks and seasoning it well with salt and pepper.

Once the chicken is browned, add in the garlic, onion, carrot, broccoli, and cabbage and cook until everything has softened and the kitchen smells incredible, which should just take about 5 minutes. Then add the drained noodles and pour the teriyaki sauce over everything, tossing to coat. Let it cook for just another minute or two until the sauce thickens up a bit and clings to every noodle.
