As it turns out, the good folks at Starbucks Japan are in the spooky season spirit and this is your chance to find out more.

Much like their American counterparts, they have all sorts of seasonal offerings that are sure to pique your interest. For example, Japan Today revealed they have a Purple Halloween Frappuccino and we wish that we had the chance to try this one out ourselves.

It’s the sort of thing that will have you Googling plane ticket prices if you are anything like us. So how are they achieving this amazing coloration? The beverages are actually made with Murasaki imo, also known as purple sweet potatoes, which is responsible for the eye-catching hue that you see here.

If we are lucky, they will figure out how to make these beverages in America. There is no reason why the Japanese should be the ones who are having all of the fun. All jokes aside, this is legitimately one of the coolest things that we have seen in some time. We are not sure how people even manage to consume these beverages. We would just be sitting there staring at ours.

Anyone who has decided to hop a flight to Japan will need to move quickly, as these drinks are going to be made available on a limited-time-only basis.

According to Starbucks Japan, the spooky purple beverages are blended cream base beverages that offer up the taste of sweet potato powder and sweet potato vanilla sauce. They are blended in the perfect manner, so that these tastes have a chance to even each other out.

This is not the only item that Starbucks Japan has recently unveiled. The Melty Raspberry in Halloween Cake is also a sight to behold. It may look like your regular, ordinary cupcake but once you bite into it? A raspberry filling oozes out of the middle that looks an awful lot like blood.

As for those who are looking to snag a Purple Halloween Frappuccino, you will have until October 31 to do. The tall sized drinks are currently priced at ¥690 JPY (which comes out to roughly $4.65 in US dollars). Meanwhile, the Melty Raspberry in Halloween Cake has been priced at ¥290 JPY (which comes out to roughly $1.95 US dollars).
