The spicy food trend has led to a lot of interesting ideas that we have been greatly enjoying. As lovers of spicy food, we are always down for something new. At times like these, it is important to think outside of the box.

Now, fans of SpaghettiOs are going to be able to enjoy a whole new spin on one of their favorite dishes. Canned pasta will never be the same.

According to a press release, the brand new SpaghettiOs Spicy Original has been made with Frank’s Red Hot sauce, creating the sort of culinary experience that cannot be found anywhere else.

The heat level has been described as mid-medium. The new flavor is also said to be geared toward millennial buyers, who are said to be responsible for at least 33% of all of the company’s sales.

We had no idea that this was the case but it makes perfect sense to us. You are never too old to enjoy SpaghettiOs. We have been known to pop a few cans open ourselves. According to the press release, Campbell’s reports 35% of their recent survey respondents said that they always eat their SpaghettiOs with hot sauce. This makes for a very natural pairing, for sure.

“SpaghettiOs and Frank’s RedHot each have an undeniable fandom,” said vice president of meals and sauces at Campbell Soup Company Mieka Burns in the press release. “Through this collaboration, we’re excited to put a hot, more mature twist on a classic offering that our adult consumers grew up enjoying.” The Spicy Original is now available and it can be had for $1.59 per can.

Spicy foods can often serve as comfort food and that’s why we keep Frank’s Red Hot on deck at all times. If the meal is not spicy enough, we will always figure out a way to make do. Thanks to the good folks over at Campbell’s, this is at least one less meal that we will have to spice up on our own. There is just one question that we still need to ask before we grab a can.

Everyone’s definition of what is spicy will differ greatly. They claim that the heat level here is mid-medium and we are wondering exactly how spicy that is. We hope that the spice is sufficient because we would not want to have to add more hot sauce!
