Always Sear The Meat First

A lot of slow cooker recipes call for searing the meat first. You might be tempted to skip this step, seeing as the meat is going to cook all the way through anyway, but that would be a mistake! Not only does searing the meat seal in moisture, but it caramelizes the outside layer of the meat, which gives a rich depth of flavor to the finished product. It’s such an easy way to take your slow cooker meal to the next level!
