A dog in South Africa was living life like a stray with an owner who couldn’t take care of her, but things quickly turned around for her when rescuers with Sidewalk Specials showed up.
The rescuers found Nanny in a small township, so pregnant it looked like she was about to give birth! The dog’s owner wasn’t giving her everything she needed and her puppies were destined to have a rough life, possibly on the streets.
Rescuers were determined to help Nanny out, and they quickly got her into a veterinarian for a checkup.
That very same night, Nanny had her puppies!
All of her little pups turned out to be healthy and they all found a foster home together where Nanny could raise them until they were old enough to be adopted.
Eventually, that day arrived and one-by-one the puppies went off to their forever homes.
In the end, it was only Nanny left, and no one seemed to want her. Sidewalks Specials wasn’t going to give up that easily, though, and they went on TV to put out a plea for help!
It wasn’t long after Nanny’s television appearance that the perfect application came in for someone interested in adopting in.
Now, Nanny is living her best life! She gets to go on adventures with her new family and gets all of the treats and love. Her puppies are also thriving in their forever homes.
