Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

In my mind, the 90s and early 2000s are always going to be last week. However, the 90s were thirty years ago, and nothing reminds you of such a travesty like dropping your own kids off at school and seeing pop culture references everywhere.

However, one school in Youngstown, Ohio, decided to have a little school drop-off fun for their parents.

The back-to-school drop-off signs at Austintown Elementary School were a bit of fun for the parents as they made a lot of references to pop culture points that only people “of a certain age” would understand.

So, “people of a certain age” now is code for millennial. Still, they’re quite hilarious and we can see how they’d make back-to-school drop-off a little less daunting for parents.

A parent at the school, Monet Lude, shared photos the signs on Facebook, saying, “These are hilarious! Our kids don’t know why these are so funny but we sure do.”

Needless to say, they’ve gone viral. Take a look down below:

1. One of the first signs that was put out, was one that featured a car fully wrapped in plastic wrap which read, “Please stay in your vehicle.”

2. Remember rapper MC Hammer’s big hit, “U Can’t Touch This”? Well, this sign parodies it with, “Can’t park here!”

3. Everyone might not be able to remember the Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl” meme, but that didn’t stop the Austintown PTA from using it in their signage.

4. Everyone loved TLC back in the day, especially their famous lyrics, “don’t go chasing waterfalls.” But since then, they’ve been reworked to, “Don’t go blocking drop-off lanes.”

5. A “Friends” reference with the sign that reads, “Pivot!! Out of the drop off line!” If you know, you know!

6. Of course, no millennial parent throwback would be complete without an NSYNC reference with the sign, “Tell the kids Bye, Bye, Bye.”

7. Of course, not all signs are about pop culture references for parents of a “certain age,” but some are simple and classic, like telling parents to “have a great day!”
