Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Former “HQ Trivia” host Sarah Pribis was once an integral part of the online game show and now she is here to tell us more about the experience.

The information that she is revealing may be surprising to some, while others will not be shocked at all. The actress and writer, who was responsible for hosting the show at its peak, is talking about it on her TikTok page.

A commentator on her page decided to ask her how much money she made for each episode. Much to our surprise, she was actually willing to answer. We were raised never to ask such questions but that does not mean that we cannot eavesdrop a bit.

It’s a topic that many of us are curious about, especially in a more general sense. In addition to offering further background on her salary, she also spoke out about other aspects of the show. It’s an absolute must-watch if you are a fan of HQ Trivia. At its peak, the show had over two million viewers per night, as cash prizes were given away on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, the app ran out of funding back in 2020. It finally returned a few months later but things are a bit different now. As for Sarah, can you believe that she was only making $150 per episode? In fact, her pay for hosting the show was actually lower than what she was making as a bartender. Sarah chose the exposure over the higher pay, though.

“I was dropping $400 to $500 bar shifts for a $150 trivia game,” said Sarah. Over time, she decided that she would ask for more money as the show became more popular. Eventually, they upped her pay rate to $350 per show.

“This might seem like a lot, or this might seem like a little,” she says. Sarah was quick to add that she spent hours of her own time preparing her own jokes for each show, on top of the 15 minutes that the job required.

She took another hiatus from the show and got another pay bump, up to $500 per episode. Where do you stand on this one? Does it seem like she was paid a lot or do you think that she should have gotten more? It’s an interesting debate to have, that is for sure.
