Dining out is something that we all enjoy. It’s a great way to get a delicious meal without having to do all the cooking and cleanup. That being said, there are also some things you may see at a restaurant that doesn’t quite add up. These could include food served on humongous plates or a missing dollar sign on the menu.

You might think that these are simple oversights on the part of the restaurant, but as you will see in the video below, there is actually a lot of thought that goes behind it. Restaurants will use those psychological tricks to trick you into doing almost anything they want you to do. For example, not showing the currency symbols will get you to spend more money, and using oversized plates makes you eat more food.

Another factor that can really make a difference on their behalf is the language they use to describe food on the menu. They put a lot of thought into those descriptions because it may increase sales by up to 27%, as you will see.
