If you have been following this story, you may have already about the Mew cookies that were found in the Pokémon x Oreos that came out earlier in the month.

In fact, if you have managed to come into one of these cookies during your travels, we hope that you saved it. They are already reselling for big money, fetching prices of up to $1,000 in the secondary market.

The limited-edition release includes 16 different Pokemon for fans to choose from. Bulbasaur, Charmander, Cyndaquil, Dratini, Grookey, Jigglypuff, Lapras, Mew, Pancham, Pikachu, Piplup, Rowlett, Sableye, Sandshrew, Snivy and Squirtle are all included in this collection. Pokemon lovers have been all about the Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon who was introduced in Generation I.

Mew’s rarity has led to the popularity, which we fully understand. If you head to eBay right now, you are sure to see some hilarious listings. We have ceased to be amazed by the things that we find on there but this one takes the cake. The auctions for the Mew cookies are regularly reaching into the hundreds and it is not uncommon to find cookies that are selling for at least $1,000. Anyone who didn’t save their Mew cookies has got to be kicking themselves right now.

Can you believe that one of the listings actually reached $13,000 USD?! We could hardly wrap our minds around it. It must be nice to have that kind of money sitting around, that is for sure. Fortunately, the proceeds that are being raised from this cookie are going to be donated to charity. The market for these cookies is only going to continue to heat up in the weeks to come, though.

If you can get your hand on a pack of these cookies still, you just might end up walking away with more money than you could have possibly imagined.

These are the sort of collector’s items that you would never expect but it makes sense once you really stop to think about it. If rare Pokemon can become a collector’s item on their own, a collaboration like this one is sure to have people opening up their wallets.
