If you were to line up 100 people and ask them about their favorite food, a surprising number of them would say pizza. That doesn’t mean that we would all love the same type of pizza, but if you had an opportunity to eat from Boston Pizza, you would have more than one reason to do so. It seems as if they have done it again with a clever ad campaign to make pizza boxes look fun by putting together a patio inside of it, according to AdWeek.
We don’t typically give the tiny ‘table’ that comes inside of the pizza box much thought. It is there to keep the cheese from sticking to the top of the box, but since it looks like a little table, Boston Pizza thought it was only appropriate to throw in a couple of tiny chairs.
The senior director of marketing for Boston Pizza, Adrian Fuoco, said, “Patio season is a big deal for Canadians. This was all about creating something fun that was part of our larger patio season initiative. Ultimately, we found a way to bring together the two things we’re passionate about – patios and pizza.” You have to admit that the tiny table and chairs are a sight to see when you open the box.
The ad campaign has seen a lot of success. Boston Pizza has also made those little tables and chairs food-friendly and safe so you can go ahead and use them again. You can use them in any type of miniature home decor or top off any other food you may enjoy. The pizza company is not saying how long the ad campaign will run, but it is hoped that the patio sets will continue to be a part of your pizza box.
