For most of us, a library is a quiet place to go and check out books. But thanks to TikTok, there is one library in particular that has become something of a performance center.

The Milwaukee Public Library TikTok account has been gaining a lot of attention for its creative and entertaining videos that they post.

Their fun videos vary in content, with one of their viral videos featuring a 90-year-old woman who is breaking down societal expectations that she’s “too old” to have an interest in reading Japanese graphic novels.

Additionally, some of their videos are keeping up with trending audios, such as the “Wednesday Addams” dance.

In this particular video, one woman performs the now famous choreography from the highly popular Netflix series “Wednesday,” which was performed by actress Jenna Ortega.

The librarian does a pretty splendid job re-enacting the scene!

Besides having a very fun TikTok account, there is also a bit of family connections as well, as the elderly lady in the first video also happens to be the grandmother of 38-year-old library employee Fawn Siemsen-Fuchs, who runs the library’s social media page.

Siemsen-Fuchs is in charge of writing the content for the videos and she often appears in them as well. She works closely with 32 year old Derek Reilly, who is a research and policy coordinator in addition to being the one who films and edits the TikTok videos.

While their videos might be highly entertaining to watch, they’re also having the desired effect that we can assume the library wanted in the first place. As the Wall Street Journal reports, in recent months there has been an increase in visits to the library, as well as more library card sign ups.

At present, the library’s TikTok account has amassed almost 3 million likes and roughly 90,000 followers.
