A man just happened to be in the right place at the right time in order to help rescue a toddler who had fallen out of an apartment window.
Had the man not been there, who knows what tragic turn of events might have taken place?
According to South China Morning Post, the man, who is being hailed a hero, happened to be in a neighborhood in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, where he was able to lend his climbing skills to the rescue effort.
The man actually managed to scale the building with only his bare hands in order to save the child’s life.
The whole thing was filmed by a nearby bystander. The footage shows the toddler having landed on the ledge of a balcony following a fall from a window. He was in danger of falling again, and this time, the fall would’ve been even worse. That is when the passing man happens to go into action. He quickly rushes up a pipe before jumping across a gap in order to reach the ledge where the child has fallen too.
Then, the man is able to rescue the child by putting a rope around the boy and then getting him back to the safety of his home, by helping to lift him back to the window from which he fell.
After the daring rescue, the man simply climbed back down the building using the same drain pipe and carried on his way.
According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the toddler was okay, having only sustained some minor scratches from his ordeal. What a lucky kid that things didn’t end worse.
