Ivy League schools are typically associated with wealth and prestige, but there are actually plenty of lower and middle-class students who attend. Connor Rice is one of them.

Now, he is sharing his story on TikTok. We cannot begin to imagine how difficult it was for him to share a campus with all of the wealthy students.

It had to be so hard and he is more than happy to provide details about this unique experience. He hails from Derby, England and received a major crash course in wealth inequality once he arrived in the States. The video that he posted has gone viral, as he let us know more about the frustrating interactions that he had with his more well-heeled classmates.

The clip that you are about to see serves as a major indictment of these wealthy students. As you might have expected, the wealthier kids simply did not understand the plight of the poor folks out there.

That’s what happens when you grow up sheltered from the harsh realities that others face. Rice decided to keep track of all of these mishaps and we cannot stop laughing.

“I was fortunate enough to go to Harvard for four years on a full scholarship,” Rice shared. “Over those four years, I did write in my Notes app on my phone every time someone rich said something stupid. So let’s go through it!” To get us started, he spoke about the social clubs that Harvard offers. They cost thousands of dollars to become a member of, though.

When Rice expressed his inability to cough up these funds, the other students seemed very confused. The idea that someone would not have thousands to blow was totally foreign to them. “Their immediate response was, ‘I think they take Venmo,'” Rice recalled. “Bro thought I meant, I didn’t have the cash for that.”

To add insult to injury, he was told that he was among the “neediest of students.”

He got an e-mail once wintertime, asking if he needed a donation from their winter coat fund. “The email said it was dedicated to ‘the neediest of students,’ and while from a definitional perspective that may be true, I don’t want to be called ‘needy’ let alone ‘the neediest,'” Rice explained. “That doesn’t feel good.”
