I love to travel, and there is nothing better than getting on a flight, taking a nap, and waking up somewhere brand new.
But before you can depart for your destination, there is the waiting. Because of security checks, etc., most of us get to the airport at least 2-3 hours before our flight which leaves plenty of time to board.
Normally, I spend most of my time at the closest Starbucks reading a book but sometimes, when that is too full, I just end up at my gate. But, there is one nice thing about most airport terminals and that’s the big glass windows where you can see out onto the tarmac.
If I’m really bored, I’ll just stare out the window and watch all the happenings that are going on, like planes coming and going, and workers loading and unloading the planes – that’s always most fascinating.
You see the one worker pulling up with like a little golf cart with several attachments behind it carrying luggage. Then, several others start throwing the baggage onto a conveyor belt and it goes up into the plane’s cargo hold.
But, what happens once it’s inside the cargo hold? What does the cargo hold even look like? Those are all questions that we might not even get answers too…until TikTok happened.
One ramp loader, Dj Sugue, has been known to share very interesting behind-the-scenes videos of luggage getting loaded and unloaded from arriving and departing planes in the Vancouver Airport in British Columbia, Canada. Dj Sugue turns them into time lapses, and they’re truly fascinating to watch!
