Did you know that your iPhone is able to track your movements throughout the day? Once you have learned how to locate this map, you will have the chance to view where you have been in the past.
The feature is not known to many but it can be found deep within the settings on the phone. It lets us know what our most frequently visited locations have been over the past few months.
This feature has been in existence for a few years now and was initially the subject of a viral TikTok video. TikTok user @techhackguy passed the tip along and it’s good information to know!
The feature in question is known as Location Services.
The location is used to improve a wide range of other features on the device. For example, let’s say that the iPhone knows about the user’s daily commute. If so, this feature can be used to offer up helpful ways to slice a few minutes off said commutes via the maps app.
Some may believe that Apple is looking to track all of their moves for reasons other than iPhone functionality and customization. You can turn the service off if that’s a concern for you.
While there are ways to delete these functions if need be, they seem to be absolutely harmless. If you’re someone who prefers not to be tracked or recorded, it may be best to opt for a less smartphone in the first place.
